The Homefront during World War 1 talks about the life in Britian during the war itself. The Homefront saw a massive change in the role of women, rationing, the bombing in the city of Britian, the first time civilians were targeted in war. Many beleived the war would be over by Christmas 1914, the government requsted about 100,000 volunteers but they got 750,000 in just one month. Rationing was brought in by the government by 1918 as neraly everything was brought to directed to the war in effort. Fuel was also in short supple and also rationed.
